It was St. Patrick's Day, and Amelia, Matthew and Scotty were in pursuit of green beer. However, so it would seem, was the rest of the Saskatoon population. With every pub crowded, the three ended up at the LBS. There, too the Saskatoon dwellers were crowding in, everyone in pursuit of liquor by which they would celebrate the day of Ireland's patron saint. Beer in hand our three heroes then made a stop at the Sobeys, now in pursuit of green food colouring. Again, the Saskatoon population had beat them to it and there was not a bottle of green food colouring to be found. As Amelia shoveled the other various colours of colouring around, she wondered aloud "What colours mixed make green?" A kind woman, passing by reminded our beauteous heroine, "It is but blue and yellow." "Ah yes, I the artist, should know even that," said Amelia as she picked up the two colours recommended. Thus it was that Scotty, Matthew and dear Amelia left the grocery store with not one dye, but
two. Home again at the abode of Amelia and her dear roommates, green beer was made for the three, and green water for Helen who joined them also. Amelia also had the brilliant idea to make the butter for the popcorn green as well. Thus St. Patrick's day was celebrated, although perhaps not accurately by Irish tradition!
