tomorrow is my birthday and so the girls treated me to a lovely dinner at the 2nd avenue grill! i think it was the first time we'd eaten together in weeks!
here we are, enjoying our delectable appetizers.
thanks girls, i had a great time. will you play my new trivia game with me? i wonder if the waiter wondered where the random map came from...

you likey?

a new template, just to try out. i can change it back if everyone hates it. keep in mind that this it's a work in progress. please let me know what you like/hate about it and i will see what i can do to make it better.
i figured it would be appropriate to have a picture of our fabulous city on our fabulous bog... which means i may have to change the template of my own blog too, but i'm okay with that. it's getting time for a change anyway. so. give your feedback. please. thanks.

lettuce luvin'

amy just said to me: is this lettuce from the garden? salads always taste just so fresh when YOU make them.
i guess i have the lettuce luvin' touch. a hidden talent, how pleasant.

of snowy nights and getting lost

well, i might be a geography major, and i might be able to tell you that map with a ratio of 1:24,000 will likely be inaccurate by about 124m, however that does NOT mean i can read maps or remember directions! last night, there was a benefit for robin's family in vonda. so at 5:30, elke and i set out to pick helen up from work (she had been released from work early). She was a bit perturbed at our lateness, however, we soon had her and following the directions ally had given us we set out into the great black and snowy night. we did manage to make it aberdeen through the given directions, however after driving down some highway in the direction of vonda, i remembered something about two aberdeen signs and a turn off the highway and....well that was all we had from the combination of my memory and the directions. anyway, we ended up driving down numerous wrong roads, and spending many moments trying to decipher a road map that did indeed prove itself to be slightly inaccurate (maybe 124m inaccurate). eventually, an hour late, we did arrive in vonda and were able to at least be there for the talking part of the night. i'm glad we made it there for that. afterwards we returned home incredibly hungry and made some delicious pizzas. yum, yum.

of hair cuts and ice cream

amy has short hair again. what fun! we decided we needed ice cream for our walk home (yes we are crazy). we were walking down the street and i made eye contact with this old man from about 10 feet away and he just started shaking his head. i was confused for a moment and then realized what was wrong. i just laughed and he snickered "never too cold for ice cream, eh girls?". i responded with "of course not" and shivered all the way home!

ben again

so today when i came home ben was on the couch (not so unexpectedly) but when i yelled at him to get off, he just looked sort of helplessly me....that was when i realized that he had the cords for the blinds wrapped around his neck, so that whenever he moved to get off the couch they tugged at his neck!! poor ben, he looked so helpless. hard to be mad at such a helpless face.....then again he DID eat ALL the muffins that helen and i worked so hard to make tuesday night.

in non-ben related news, we do NOT know where to get some weed. sorry strange boys.

candlelight wards off halloweeners

ate in darkness last night and ignored any trick-or-treaters that came by. t'was a pleasant dinner ambience, if you ask me. but that one kid (who rang the doorbell three times and was jumping up to look in our window) saw me on my way to the bbq probably wondered what my problem was. sorry kid, take your greedy butt somewhere else.
