h.e.a.r. this!

got helen all moved today. amy and i move saturday. it will be nice to have it all over and done with. there's been talk of a housewarming party, which is exciting ~ hopefully that will motivate us to get settled in quickly. also, amy seems to have her heart set on *family* portraits, so we'll see about that. i think the *family* games night is a great idea though, ames. it may prevent us from never wanting to hang out with eachother once we live together. ha.

moving really sucks. literally. it sucks out your energy. i am so exhausted. and i haven't even moved yet. i'm not even half done. i have WAY too much crap. gah. i need to not think about it for a while. i need a hot bath. and then a nap. but not a nap in the hot bath, don't worry.

so last night i was curled up in bed watching tv when my door buzzer buzzed.... at first i figured it was young punks wanting into the building, ringing random buzzers, however i figured i would check anyway.... and what a lovely surprise i had when it turned out to be helen and robin!!! HI GUYS!!!!! It sure DOES feel like it has been AGES since the days when we used to see each other almost every night....hahaha....guess soon that will be even more of a reality then ever before! ANYWAY, t'was good to see you two, even if you did shock me with the unexpected door buzzing!!!

one man saw the potential of a horse shoe in robin's spudnut and thought he'd share the joke with us...his humour, however, was ignored by us....alas, his groping hand still made it in the picture.


after the spudnuts, we sought out the mini donuts.... while waiting in the line, a giant beer balloon beckoned us seductively....we managed to ignore the siren's call as we did not want to sit drinking in a fancy beer corral.


next we craved meat, greek style, and so we bought souvlaki. we went to this particular kiosk, for the photogenic quality...however, the photographer, missed the intended aspects....if THAT makes any sense....

we did eat more delightful fair offerings, and wandered around for awhile. helen and amy rode the ferris wheel....and so on....and a final crowning glory to our evening.....the concert of a lifetime -- beyond any of our wildest dreams.


how could our night possibly have been made complete without free tickets to see that dreamy kalan porter. wow, it was so amazing, moving beyond words.....we were so enamored, we had to force ourselves to leave after just a few songs...guess we will have to dream bigger dreams now that THAT one has been fulfilled.

today when i checked out the scrapblog here, it just made me so HAPPY. hurrah for summer fun with friends!!! and hurrah for both of you. i hope you have a lovely weekend! it's time i get my stuff ready to go home and get married...i mean watch other people get married. if i DO happen to get married, i'll make sure to send a postcard.

i'm so excited to move in i can hardly stand it. it's going to be a lot of work (as moving always is) but i can't wait to be moved in and have things set up and live with the girls. amy needs a little help to see the potential of the basement but i really think it could be great.

although summer is going alarmingly fast, i'm very excited for this month. the thought of august just generally makes me happy but there are some specific things i'm looking forward to this year: esther and carman's wedding, moving into a house with some fabulous people, getting to the third month point at my job, folkfest, fringe festival, sitting on patios with friends, and my birthday. sounds like a fun-filled month to me!
